Farmers Market

This past Thursday, the boys and I headed to the local farmers market in Mount Vernon to check out the fresh produce. The goal was to buy an entire meal consisting of all farmers market goods. So we came home with fresh lettuce, onions, eggs, strawberries and kolaches. We made omelets and had a salad with the lettuce. It was so much better for so many reasons, one being we knew where our food was coming from. We're going to try to do this every Thursday and see what we can come up with!

In Texas, kolaches are pigs in a blanket instead of the jelly/cream cheese filled pastries. I'm slowly but surely learning "Texan". I will say that the produce down here is AMAZING all year long!

That's great, Keri! Do you find the prices reasonable?
